Whitecaps Community Foundation

"The Ted Rasberry Youth League (TRYL) is the primary recipient of the Whitecaps Community Foundation’s charitable efforts. Since 1995, more than a quarter of a million dollars has been pledged to the program, allowing more than 35,000 children the opportunity to participate in organized baseball and softball."

Our donation will help to provide equipment and build two new baseball fields to improve access and participation in youth sports in the Grand Rapids community.

Clark Park Coalition

Clark Park Coalition

"We at the Clark Park Coalition have a rich history of community programming that impact hundreds of youth annually in SW Detroit, Michigan. The demographic make-up of our community is 57% Hispanic/Latinx followed by 23.6% Black/African American and 16.9% White. Annual household income of our community members making less than 35k/year is 62.2% which is higher than the average for the city of Detroit. With these factors in mind, we work hard to bring meaningful programs and experiences to youth in our community."

Our donation will provide the funding to support our new lacrosse programming here at the park. Funds would allow the purchase of protective equipment, jerseys, nets, and balls for youth boys & girls ages 7-18, as well as help cover the cost of renting an indoor space during the cold winter months. Clark Park believes "Lacrosse will help engage our youth in a new way here at the Park, bringing the gap between cultures/languages & socioeconomic status through access to the sport."

Hillsdale High School
Baseball Program

Hillsdale High School is located in a rural community and over 60% of students receive free and reduced school lunches/meals to help families provide lunch for their children. Their baseball program faces a similar challenge when trying to provide equipment to students on a limited budget.

"The baseball program is funded solely by fundraising. We have to buy our hats, uniforms and equipment out of a fundraising account. In the past we have been able to make ends meet with the couple fundraisers that we currently participate in. However, with Covid affecting our 2020 season, we were unable to run our can drive that generates the most money for our team. We started last season with no money and made due, but now much of our equipment is in need of replacing. We will need to have a big fundraising season to get back to where we need to be in our budget. With help from this grant we could replace helmets and uniforms, which is a huge expense"

Our donation will help ensure the baseball program is adequately prepared to field a team and increase opportunities for participation.

Bad Axe High School
Softball Program

Bad Axe High School
Softball Program

Bad Axe softball program is the only remaining spring sport in the local school district that carries a full Varsity and Junior Varsity roster and schedule. A grant from Get To Foundation will help support their athletes with proper equipment, encourage younger players to participate, and improve the enthusiasm for softball in their community.

Our grant funding will "support buying personal equipment for our players. Being a rural community, travel to a sporting goods store can be a barrier to access." Our donation will help to purchase gloves for each of the student athletes at Bad Axe.

Boys & Girls Club
of the Muskegon Lakeshore

Boys & Girls Club of the Muskegon Lakeshore has a mission to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive and caring citizens.

Our donations to the Boys and Girls Club of Muskegon will: "support the key element of offering opportunities to youth through our Endurance Sports program - a program created to give youth a sense of adventure through training to participate in 5Ks, duathlons, and other endurance related activities with their peers. This program aligns perfectly with the foundation’s goal to inspire others to consider obligations and obstacles as opportunities, and to shift their perspective from “have to” to “Get To.”

Our grant will help purchase running shoes and provide funds to improve participation with the Endurance Sports program
